COMING EVENTS
18th December—DPS Prizegiving
19th December - Teachers Only
BIBLE IN SCHOOL
The Board of Trustees has considered the subject of religious programmes
being taught in our school.
By a series of resolutions, the Board has decided:
1. Approved religious programmes can be delivered to students during school
hours, but not during normal classroom hours.
2. The Board will establish a procedure for the delivery of information
on such programmes to parents and caregivers who will then have the ability
to make an informed and ‘neutral’ choice on whether their
children receive such instruction,
3. The Bible in Schools programme is an approved programme to be delivered
to students within the above parameters.
As a result of this decision, any organisation or persons who wish to
deliver religious education programmes to DPS students, may:
1, Seek approval from the Board; and
2. provide a satisfactory information package to be made available to
parents.
The Board will then consider the application and decide whether the proposed
programme can be delivered to students on school grounds, and using school
facilities, but outside of normal classroom hours, (e.g. lunchtime, before,
or after school).
The Board thanks all persons who offered their opinions and recommendations
on the subject.
The Board also wishes to thank the Bible in Schools tutors who have provided
their services in delivering the Bible in Schools programme to students
over many years.
