16th December—Last day Term 4
There are a few more boxes of books to be covered, if you can help out
please see Anita in the Library.
The Juniors will hold their Athletics on Thursday 4th December, 9am at
the school. All parents are welcome to come along and watch.
Swimming has started at school and it is compulsory for all children to
wear a swimming cap. We have these for sale at the office for $3.00.
PHONE & ADDRESS UPDATE
All children from Y1 to Y5 will be bringing a letter home with their home
address and phone numbers we have on records. Please amend any changes
including mobile phone numbers and return to the school office.
Some of these forms are being returned already, it highlights the need
to constantly keep the school informed of any changes, as there are quite
a few changes to our records.
YEAR 6 SOCIAL
All year 6 children are invited to an end of year social on the 11th December
from 6.30pm — 8.30pm in the school hall. The theme is “Hippi”.
There have been a number of children turning up late for school. School
starts at 8.50 sharp.
Please have your children here on time.
A very big thank you to all parents, teachers and helpers who participated
in the Multi Cultural performance at Punaruku School. Your time, energy
and transport was invaluable. Also thanks for all the help over the last
year with transport to and from venues, and for help in the kitchen and
behind the scenes at “Kidz Nite Out” and the “Talent
To celebrate the end of a wonderful year Kapa Haka / Cultural Group are
to bring a plate for a shared lunch in the Hall on Friday 12th December
12.30-1.30pm, Thanks to all you great kids in the group.

School Prize giving will be held on Tuesday 16th December at 11 am at
the Town Hall.
Parents, caregivers and friends of the school are invited to attend.
Children are to attend school as usual, starting at 8.50. We will assemble
in our class rooms, and walk down to the Town Hall at 10.30am. After prize
giving, all children must return to school with their classes. Parents
are welcome to take their children home from class at approximately 1pm.
(please let the teacher know). Any children remaining at school will continue
the day supervised until 3pm. Bus times are as normal.
Parents and caregivers are invited to the Middle Syndicates athletics
rotation, followed by class relays on Thursday 4th at 11am.
LOST LIBRARY BOOKS
Notices have been sent home today with children who have outstanding library
books. Please check to see if your child has one of these in their bags.

MARSDEN BAY HOLIDAY CAMPS
Marsden Bay Holiday Camps will be having a Children’s Camp in the
School Holidays at Marsden Bay Youth Camp, One Tree Point, Ruakaka. January
4th-9th, ages 9-13years. For more information phone Colleen & Geoff

the school office.
BAPTIST JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP
Saturday 6th December a barbeque tea at the Kai Iwi Lakes with water games.
Leave from the Baptist Church at 1pm. Cost $5.00which includes tea.
OTAMATEA REPERTORY THEATRE
WANTED: Children to be involved in all aspects of production, including
front-of-house, on stage, backstage, props, lighting, costumes, make-up,
etc. Experience not necessary. We are especially looking for children
with prepared ’acts’ (song, dance, magic, juggling, instrumentalists,
etc). There will be two performances at the end of the workshop. Dates
are January 12-23 inclusive (excl. 18th) 9am—2pm at the Theatre,
Bickerstaffe Road, Maungaturoto. Cost of $40.00 which includes Theatre
membership. For all school children up to 18yrs of age. Please register
before January 9th by phoning Peter or Maura 431 6640 if you have a prepared
act please register by 31st December.
Who wants to join?
We are seriously thinking of starting up a Gymnastics Club
in Dargaville, beginning 2004. We have an enthusiastic instructor, available
training space and a start up kit.

SANTA’S AT ARKWRIGHTS
Santa Harry will be at Arkwright’s shop from 10th December. Photo’s
with Santa cost $5, proceeds go to the food bank. Letters to Santa can
be left in the Mail Box in the shop.
