DPS SCHOOL NEWS AND EVENTS
BUS MONITORS & TRAFFIC WARDENS
All Yr 5 & Yr 6 children who were bus monitors or traffic wardens
this year will be having a day out in Whangarei on the 11th December.
They will be going to the Whangarei Aquatic Centre and to McDonalds for
lunch. A consent form will be sent home soon with these children; this
must be returned to the school office to allow them to go.
All children must return their library books to school this week and all
lost books are to be paid for.
The school athletics is on tomorrow at Selwyn Park, if it is wet postponement
day will be the 29th November. All 1500m races will be run at the school
on Friday morning.
The children that are participating tomorrow are: all children who are
8 years old as at the 1st January 2002, and all Senior Syndicate children.
The rest of the Middle Syndicate children will have a fun athletics day
on the School field starting at 11am tomorrow (28th). All parents and
caregivers are welcome.
A stove in good condition and working order. Phone the school office 439
Our lost property grows an average of about 3 unclaimed items per day
so as you can imagine by the end of the year we have a large collection
of clothes and shoes. Fortunately some of this is named but the majority
isn’t. To help reduce this problem the school is running a fundraiser
called “Labelnames.” This consists of personalized labels
which can be ironed or sewn on to clothing and they come with print in
four colours. An order form has been sent home today with all the details.
Please fill in and return in an envelope to the school office by Friday
29th November. Make cheques payable to Dargaville Primary School.
We have some great stocking fillers for Christmas. 3 Moro Bars for $2.50.

Northern Wairoa Athletics will be on the 2nd December at Ruawai College.
All children who are eligible to go will be informed after the school
athletics. A form will be sent home with these children which must be
returned before Monday. We will need parents/caregivers to help out with
transporting children to Ruawai.
Due to increase in cost of stock recently purchased we have had to increase
the price of A4 books to $1.50. As of today we will not be restocking
any stationery until 2003. Glue sticks can be purchased locally.
Some children will have dental forms which need to be returned to the
dental clinic, please ensure they are as soon as possible. Remember fresh
fruits are best for snack times.
