All children must wear sun hats. Those who do not have a sun hat will
be restricted to playing under one of the shade areas. This will apply
to all children. Caps and full brimmed hats will be acceptable, beanies
are not acceptable.
SELWYN PARK SCHOOL CHALLENGE
On Wednesday 8th October many children participated in the sports challenge
against Selwyn Park here at the school. Results are as follows:
Yr 5, 7—2 Selwyn Park
Yr 6, 17—10 Dargaville Primary
Soccer: 6—1 Dargaville Primary
Rugby: 5—0 Dargaville Primary
A big thank you to coaches: Rugby—Sam Galo, Colin MacDonald and
Hal Harding. Netball—Kelly Bryers and Leanne Phillips. Soccer—Phil
Brown. Your time and support is much appreciated. Also thanks to the referees
for doing a great job.
We would like to acknowledge Sam Galo and Kath Galo-Bennett for their
input with the Multicultural Group. A great performance was put on at
the Multicultural Performing Arts at Te Kopuru recently. Also thanks to
the parents who helped with transport.
Helpers are need to cover new dictionaries in the Library. Please phone
the school if you can spare a bit of time.
Fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, water, plain popcorn are best for in
Middle syndicate are collecting empty 2 litre drink bottles if you have
some at home please send them into school.
The sunflower plants have arrived and can be collected from the school
DPS PRIZEGIVING CUPS
Please return all cups to the office.
We have bandanas available at the school office for $4 each. This is supporting
children with cancer.
We would appreciate a phone call if your child will not be at school for
Information packs and enrolment forms are available at the office for
all year 6 children going to DIS Please return to the DPS office asap.
On the 24th November all Year 6 students will visit the Dargaville Intermediate.
A newsletter informing you of events and class activities for showday
was sent home with the children yesterday afternoon. If you have not received
one we have spare at the office.
OTHER NEWS AND EVENTS.
ANGLICAN SPRING FAIR
On November 8th in the Dargaville Town Hall, the Anglican Church is holding
its annual Spring Fair. This year the theme is “Nautical”
with main emphasis on Fish. We are going to decorate the stage with a
large fish net and attach colourful fish. We are asking primary children
to make colourful fish and have them displayed. Each fish will be given
a lucky number for a lucky number prize. The fish are to be dropped into
Glorias Flowers before Nov 8th.
DARGAVILLE LITTLE THEATRE
All children aged between 7 & 16 and wanting to audition for the “Little
Red Riding Hood” show, come to the Little Theatre on 20th October

On Saturday 18th October St Josephs will be holding their Agriculture
day along with the gala. Starts at 9am and will be held at the school
and Parish grounds. There will be stalls, pony rides (weather permitting)
candyfloss, and all the fun of the fair. Please come along and support
BAPTIST JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP
Multiplex night. Meet there at 7pm, please bring money for a drink if
you require one. Cost $4.00
