SELWYN PARK CHALLENGE
A great day was had by all who attended the rugby and netball challenge
at the end of last term. The rugby was a close match and ended up a draw,
the Standard 4 netball girls had a close game with Selwyn Park winning
10—8 and the Standard 3 girls came out with a good win 12—3.
Many thanks to Dave Dennis, Keith Nichols, Hal Harding, Kelly Bryers and
Louise Pocklington who coached these teams.
All children must wear a sunhat this term, those who do not wear a sunhat
will be restricted to playing under one of the shade areas.
Any late entries for animals on showday will be accepted up until Monday
21st please give to Mrs Vincent. Also helpers are required for the day

We still have a lot of t-shirts not returned from last term. Please return
as soon as possible to the office.
The next PTA meeting is 15th October at 7.30pm in the staffroom. All welcome.
HEARING & VISION
Sandy Pearce will be visiting the school on 15th & 16th October to
check new entrants and any children who have had previous problems with
hearing and vision.
Just a reminder that we are part of the Schooltex Loyalty Programme so
if you purchase any clothing from Postieplus with the schooltex label
on it and mention our school we get a percentage of the sale.
Can we please have all cups returned to the office from the 2001 D.P.S.
prizegiving as soon as possible.
JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP
On Saturday October 12th we are going to a BMX track in Whangarei, please
bring your own bike. Leaving the Baptist Church at 1pm, cost is $6.00
each which includes tea. For all children aged between 10—12yrs
or Year 6—Form 2.
DARGAVILLE TENNIS CLUB
Tennis for juniors is starting on Thursday 24th October. Year 6, Form
1 and 2 children
4—5pm and for Form 3 and upwards 5—6pm. Cost $20 for the season.

MOBILE EAR CLINIC
The Mobile Ear Clinic will be outside Woolworths on 21st October from
9am—3.30pm. For all glue ear assessmenst, treatment of discharging
ears, grommet checks, wax and foreign body removal. No appointment necessary
just call in.
At the Multiplex this Friday 11th October, 7—9.30pm. For children
7yrs—14yrs. Entry $4 includes blades or bring your own. Drinks,
ice-blocks and snacks available.
Thank you very much PTA for the new Junior Adventure Playground. All of
the junior children have been enjoying it to the max over the last two
days. Older children have managed a turn outside of normal school time
- they also think it is good. The PTA has raised over $10,000 for the
playground through events such as the Garage Sale, selling food and drink
at sports events, sausage sizzles, etc. A small group of people have done
a lot of work and now all of our junior children are benefiting as a result
- well done PTA.
NO SAUSAGE SIZZLE
There will be no Friday Sausage Sizzles this term.
DPS 125 YEAR REUNION
We are busily organising the 125 year reunion. It is coming up very soon
- Labour weekend. If you are intending to come please register urgently,
we need numbers for catering. If you know of others coming please ask
them to register as soon as possible. Thanks.
