Many thanks to Paula Powell for running a fantastic roster duty for the
sausage sizzle on Fridays. We’ll keep you on! Helpers are needed
for the Garage Sale on Friday to set up and Saturday 8.30am. Helpers also
wanted for Bookweek to help in the Library from 10am—1pm, please
contact Anita in the Library. Next meeting Monday 15th September at 7.30pm.
DPS NETBALL
A big thank you to all Coaches, Umpires and uniform people for helping
out with the teams this year. Congratulations to the teams for the following
prizes:

BODYJAM
Many children from DPS participated in the Bodyjam held at Ruawai recently.

SPEECH FINALISTS
Congratulations to all Speech Finalists. 1st = Sophie Matthewman &
Harriet Hancock, 3rd Douglas Hamlin. Good luck to Sophie and Harriet for
the NW Speech Competition next Wednesday
.BOOKWEEK8—12th September
The timetable for the week is:
Monday— Display opens. Reading of books by well known members of
the community
Tuesday — Parents visit school. Details of timetable for class lessons
soon but note that all class lessons will take place before lunch.
Wednesday— Sports afternoon. You are welcome to visit the Library
and then watch the Selwyn Park/Dargaville Primary Sports Challenges.
Thursday—Grandparents Day (if a child does not have a grandparent
they may bring an older friend.)
Friday— Dress-up Day.
HEAD LICE
Headlice appear to be on the move again. Most children are being treated,
only to return to school and be re-infected. It is very important that
you constantly check your children’s hair
ASSEMBLY
On Thursday at 8.55am in the School Hall the winners of the Bodyjam team
section will perform for the school as well as winners of the speech contest.
Parents/caregivers are all welcome to attend.
MIDDLE SYNDICATE
On the 16th September the middle syndicate are going on a visit to Delta
Produce.
OTHER NEWS AND EVENTS.
FISH FACTORY YOUTH
Movie nights on the big screen. Two screenings Friday 29th & Saturday
30th August at the Dargaville Intermediate School. Any age welcome, starts
7.00pm and cost is a gold coin koha. Food for sale is Lollies $1 &
.50c, K-Bars .40c, Choc Bars $1.20, Chips $1.20, Bottle drink $1.00.
WEARABLE ART COMPETITION
The Rotary Club of Dargaville are wanting any children or adults interested
in entering their wearable art competition to collect an entry form from
the school office. It is for wacky, way out and novel creations either
glued, stapled and sewn together. Creations will be modeled at the Dargaville
Town Hall on Thursday 16th October 2003, commencing at 7.00pm.
YOUTH GROUP
Friday 29th August: Tribal Wars. Meet at the Baptist Church 7.15pm, cost
$2.00
