TIPS
Use your clothesline on fine days to dry your clothes.
Wash clothes in cold water, water heating uses more than anything else
in the home.
Only have heaters on in the room you’re in.
JUNIOR SYNDICATE
Next week the Junior Syndicate plan to take the children on a visit to
the Northern Wairoa Museum.

BOARD & STAFF MEMBER PROFILES
Each week we will be profiling our staff and board members.
This week we introduce to you:
Merilyn Marsden:
Merilyn has been teaching at DPS for 10 years and is currently our Senior
Syndicate leader, acting Assistant Principal as well as class room teacher
for Room 18. Merilyn also heads the Math's and planning and assessment
areas for the whole school. In her spare time she enjoys playing squash,
horse riding, indoor netball and fishing.
Greg Smith:
Having previously taught at Kaihu Valley School, Greg applied for a position
here and has been teaching at DPS for16 years. Having taught in all syndicates
he held the position of Assistant Principal, and was appointed to the
position of Deputy Principal 4 years ago. Greg and his wife Jean live
in Whangarei and have 3 adult children. Any spare time Greg has is occupied
with his daughters wedding plans for December.

JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP
Friday 20th June Junior Youth Group. Gym Nite—Meet at the Baptist
Church 7.15pm. Cost $2.

HEARTLAND SERVICES
Heartland Services provide access to government agencies for rural New
Zealand towns. This service is available in Dargaville and is based in
the Work and Income Building, Normanby Street.
Government agencies currently represented include:
*Housing NZ Corporation—fortnightly on a Tuesday.
*Maori Land Court—2nd Thursday of every month.
*Inland Revenue Department—2nd Thursday & last Tuesday monthly.
*Health Advocate—Each Monday 1.30--2.30pm.
*Te Puni Kokiri—1st Wednesday monthly.
*ACC, CEG, Tenancy Services—by arrangement.
*MAF, Dept of Labour and OSH—information available.
