30th April-- PTA Meeting
20th May--BOT AGM
The PTA meeting is this afternoon at 3pm in the staffroom, all welcome.
The PTA will be running the sausage sizzle each Friday at school this
term. In order to make the healthiest choice for our children and also
to shop locally, we will be buying the sausages from Arcade Meats this
term. We hope the children will find the sausages tastier and filling.
Our thanks to Arcade Meats for their competitive price. Sausages will
still be $1.00 and children are to give the money to their teacher on

have 1½ -2 hours to spare one Friday morning this term please contact

A reminder to return all school t-shirts used at the Triathlon to the
These are being done on Thursday 22nd May. All children have been given
their order forms, please ensure each child has their own envelope and
money returned to the school office by Monday 19th May. The correct amount
of money must be in the envelope as NO change will be given. (The school
will not be checking envelopes these are opened on the day by the photographer.)
NOTE: We will not be taking any family portraits, only photos of children
currently attending the school.
Ministry of Education has advised that all NZ schools will be taking part
in a vaccination program for the meningococcal disease next year. This
program will be run by the Public Health nurses. When more information
is available we will forward it to parents and caregivers.
Netball starts on the 10th May and the draw will be in the Dargaville
District News next week. All the teams are full and the girls will be
getting their uniforms fitted in the next week. Many thanks to the parents
who have offered to help out with the teams.
Rugby training for the Dargaville Primary under 9 teams will be on Thursday’s
at lunchtime starting tomorrow, remember to bring your mouth guards.
SOCIAL WORKER IN SCHOOL
We wish to advise you that Kathi Taylor has been appointed as the social
worker in schools and will be at Dargaville Primary every Tuesday from
8.30am to 1.30pm. Kathi’s role is to assist children whose social
and family circumstances put them at risk of not achieving good health,
education and welfare outcomes. The focus is on prevention and early intervention
for children and their families. Kathi is a non-statutory worker and non-threatening.
The service she delivers is based on a “Needs and Strengths”
assessment with respect of the integrity of the family/whanau unit, it’s
culture values and priorities.

All referrals from school staff will be faxed to Kathi via the Principal.
Other referrals can come from the family, friends or concerned people

MOUTHGUARDS FOR SALE
On Friday at lunchtime John Powell will be at the school outside the office
selling mouth guards for $2.00

DARGAVILLE SWIMMING CLUB PRIZEGIVING
Prizegiving will be on Friday 2nd May 6.30pm at the Dargaville Intermediate
Hall. Please bring a plate along for supper. We look forward to seeing
you all there.
SOCCER RALLY DAY
This Saturday 3rd May, 9.00am at Selwyn Park, Dargaville. All welcome,
boys and girls of all ages. Assistance of parents will be much appreciated.

YMCA WAIWERA LODGE
Father and Son weekend on the 23rd May to 25th May for children aged 7-13yrs.

MOBILE EAR CLINIC
The clinic will be outside Woolworths on the 19th May from 9.00am to 3.30pm.
No appointment necessary just call in for all glue ear assessments, treatment
of discharging ears, grommet checks, wax and foreign body removal.
