FUN WITH TE REO
The whole school is studying on electricity at the moment so our te reo
is associated with that.
Electric plug. Puru.
We require volunteers to cook sausages once or twice only on Friday mornings
from 10am to 11.30am. Please phone Dianne 439 1575 if you can help out.
On the 29th May we are running the “Ambrose Golf Tournament”
which will be our major fundraiser for the year and we need your help
to make it a successful and fun day. All money raised will go towards
school equipment to benefit our children. We already have 20 of the 40
places filled, enter now to avoid missing out. See the back page of newsletter
for entry form, also available at Polwarth Design.
FITNESS & PE
The whole school is participating in a PE and fitness programme called
“Jump Jam”. All children are expected to participate in this
unless they have a note from home or a doctors certificate. Children are
required to wear shorts and t-shirts during fitness and can put warm clothes
on before returning to their classes.
Please inform the office of any changes in phone numbers (including mobile
numbers) and addresses.
The bus service only provides for children that regularly travel on the
bus, any extra children (friends) cannot travel on the bus and you will
have to make arrangements to transport them yourselves.
Also a reminder to parents that if your child is not traveling on the
bus to phone the school or send a note to your child’s teacher.
Often we get conflicting stories from children who say they should/not
be going on the bus, because they have overheard a conversation at home
which has not been finalised. This puts us in an awkward position of whether
or not to send them on the bus. As you can appreciate we don’t want
to send a child home, if no one is there, and we don’t like to hold
a child at school only to find out that they should have been on a bus.
Bible on Thursday from 12—12.30pm fin the school hall for children
in the senior syndicate.
HEAD LICE DETERRENT
We have been informed that 3 drops of tea tree oil added to your shampoo
or conditioner (if used) is good for keeping the head lice away.
It is the parents/caregivers responsibility to contact the school if your
child or children are absent from school. Phone 439 7255
Parents are welcome to attend the school assembly's held fortnightly at
9am on Thursday’s in the school hall. The next assembly is May 26th.
The only jewellery we allow children to wear at school is stud earrings,
watches and medical alert bracelets.
