PTA NEWS
The PTA AGM will be held on Tuesday 22nd March at 7.30pm in the school
staffroom. Everyone is welcome, please feel free to come along, meet other
parents and share in your child’s education.
NW SWIMMING SPORTS
All children eligible to go to Northern Wairoa will have been given a
notice to bring home today. This will need to be signed and returned immediately
as NW Swimming Sports are on this Friday. The PTA will be selling sausages,
juice, water, popcorn, cookies, juices and moosies all at $1 each.
NW JMB NETBALL
Netball will be commencing on the 9th April 2005. All teams, coaches and
umpires are to assemble at The Dargaville High School Netball Courts before
9am. A draw will be given out then. April 9th and 16th will be grading
days and competition will start on the 7th May.
SCHOOL SORES
These are highly contagious and there are a few children with these at
the moment. What do they look like? They start of like an ordinary sore
then develop a crusty ring around the edge, they then get larger instead
of healing. You need to see a doctor to get an antibiotic medicine to
kill the disease. Sores should be kept covered and your child should be
kept at home for a few days until the sores start to heal.

HOW TO DRUG PROOF YOUR KIDS
A reminder that this programme is starting on Wednesday March 9th, 7.30—9.30pm
at the Dargaville Intermediate School and runs for 4 weeks. This is for
parents and caregivers of children aged 8yrs to teens, so that you can
be better informed about the risks associated with drugs and alcohol in
our community. It gives plenty of useful resources to help you keep your
children “drug proofed” and helpful advice for intervention
if this became necessary. Cost $20 per adult, $30 for a couple. If interested

KAURICOAST SURFCASTING CONTEST
Dargaville Primary has been nominated as a recipient for a share
of any profit made from this event. A great family day out with children’s
activities, quick fire raffles and an all day barbeque. To be held on
Saturday 19th March 2005 on Ripiro Beach centred at Omamari Gap. Tickets
$35 and Junior section 12 years and under is free entry. Prizes valued
at over $15,000 including spot prizes.

JUNIOR SOCCER RALLY DAY
Saturday 9th April at Selwyn Park Field 9.00am. For all boys and girls

The Dargaville Tennis Club are holding a garage sale this Saturday 12th
March, 9am at the Scout Hall, Onslow St. Toys, clothes, books, furniture,

KAIPARA COMMUNITY EXPO
24th March 2005 at The Dargaville Town Hall 10am—6pm, admission
free. Do you ever wonder what services are available in the Kaipara, this
expo will give you the opportunity to find out. Some of the agencies attending

ANNUAL MONSTER CAR BOOT SALE AND AUCTION
Your trash may be someone else’s treasure!
Easter Saturday 26th March 2005 at the Tangiteroria Hall Sports Complex.
10am Car Boot Sale and 12.30pm Auction. Any goods considered but no livestock.
You keep the proceeds of your sale but there is a charge of $2 per boot
load.
Goods can be sold “garage sale style” or auctioned. Goods
not sold can be auctioned at no extra charge at the end of the day so
you have a choice.
Visit Sarah’s Café for morning and afternoon tea, hot chips
and sausages.
Bar will be open. Proceeds from sale entry fee and refreshments to Tangiteroria
School and Hall.

Expressions of interest are invited for a monster machinery auction to
run in conjunction with the above. You keep the proceeds and the commission
charged goes to Tangiteroria School.
