DPS NEWS.

PTA NEWS
The PTA AGM will be held on Tuesday 22nd March at 7.30pm in the school staffroom. Everyone is welcome, please feel free to come along, meet other parents and share in your child’s education.
The PTA will be selling Juice, water, popcorn and cookies at the DPS swimming sports, all $1each.


DPS JMB NETBALL
There are a few netball forms returned without the fees, please send the money to school before Friday 4th March as registrations need to be paid to Northern Wairoa.

DENTAL CLINIC
Anne and Sarah are now based at Ruawai and can be contacted on 439 2306.

JMB RUGBY GEAR
Anyone who has rugby jerseys, rugby balls and hit shields from last season please return them to the office.

DPS SWIMMING SPORTS
Swimming sports will be held at the Town Pool on March 7th and postponement date is the 8th March. Children will be seated in their allocated houses at the pools and we are asking that they wear an item of clothing in their house colour to support their house. The houses and colours are:
Marsden—Blue
Hobson—Green
Grey—Red
Leigh—Yellow
We will need helpers for the timing of races. All senior syndicate children will be going to the town pool and children in the middle syndicate aged 8 as at the 1st January 2005 and able to swim a length of the town pool will be going. Any queries contact your child’s teacher. All children must bring their lunch, drink, togs, towel, sunhat and sunscreen. Juices, water, popcorn and cookies will be on sale at $1 each.


HEAD LICE
A good deterrent for head lice is mixing tea tree oil with conditioner when washing hair.

NW SWIMMING SPORTS
All children eligible to go to Northern Wairoa will be given a notice to bring home after the DPS swimming sports.
This will need to be signed and returned as soon as possible as NW Swimming Sports are on 11th March.

OTHER NEWS AND EVENTS.
HOW TO DRUG PROOF YOUR KIDS
A reminder that this programme is starting next week, Wednesday March 9th, 7.30—9.30pm at the Dargaville Intermediate School and runs for 4 weeks. This is fir parents and caregivers of children aged 8yrs to teens, so that you can be better informed about the risks associated with drugs and alcohol in our community. It gives plenty of useful resources to help you keep your children “drug proofed” and helpful advice for intervention if this became necessary. Cost $20 per adult, $30 for a couple. KAURICOAST SURFCASTING CONTEST
Dargaville Primary has been nominated as a recipient for a share
of any profit made from this event. A great family day out with children’s activities, quick fire raffles and an all day barbeque. To be held on Saturday 19th March 2005 on Ripiro Beach centred at Omamari Gap. Tickets $35 and Junior section 12 years and under is free entry. Prizes valued at over $15,000 including spot prizes.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL
Sunday 6th March the Dargaville Swimming Club are having a kids swimming carnival, family day. Come along and have a go, open to all kids who can swim a length of the town pool. Registrations from 11am and a gold coin entry. Chocolate fish prizes and lollies for all those who compete.
Sausage sizzle. Friendly advice given from swimming club coaches to help in your preparation for NW Swimming Sports.

JUNIOR SOCCER RALLY DAY
