COMING EVENTS

DPS NEWS.
PTA NEWS
The last fundraiser for the year is the calendars. Children have been
working on their art work for these and will be completed this week. All
calendar orders and money need to be in by Friday 26th November.
DPS T-SHIRTS
We have a lot of t shirts which have not been returned from NW Cross country
last term. Please return to the office as we will need them for the NW
Athletics next Tuesday.
JUNIOR FUN ATHLETICS
All parents/caregivers are welcome to come along on the 8th December at
9.00am to watch the children participate in the fun athletics. It will
finish at approximately 10.30am.
ABSENT CHILDREN
If your child is absent from school please inform the office of their
absence.
NW ATHLETICS
A letter has been sent home today for those children who qualify to go
to NW Athletics in Ruawai on Tuesday 30th November (only children aged
8 and over as at 1st January 2004 will be competing).
DPS ATHLETICS
Thank you to all the helpers at the High School on Monday with the time-keeping
and other duties your help is much appreciated.
800m & 1500m Races
The 800m was run this morning for 9 and 10 yr olds. The 1500m will be
run tomorrow at approx 9.30am for 9 & 10 yr olds and parents are welcome
to come and watch.

BIBLE
There will be no more bible for this year.
DENTAL CLINIC
We have issued second consent forms for dental treatment, please ensure
that these are returned as soon as possible otherwise your child may miss
treatment. If you are concerned that your child has not brought home any
forms then please phone us at the clinic on 439 4065.
SAUSAGE SIZZLE
There will be another sausage sizzle this Friday 26th November. Students
involved with the “Challenge Leadership Programme” from Dargaville
High School will be organising this. Children to give money to teacher
as normal.
Cost $1.00.
SWIMMING
Now that swimming has started there are some health and safety issues
that we need to pass on to parents and caregivers with regard to the new
NZ Pool Water Quality Standards.
If your child has had diarrhoea recently they are unable to swim for a
period of 2 weeks. You will need to advise their teacher or the office
if they have been affected by this illness.
School sores: children are unable to swim until these have completely
healed.
Bathing caps are compulsory and can be purchased at the school office
for a cost of $3.00.
LIBRARY
Lucky book orders close 26th November.
OTHER NEWS AND EVENTS.
MARSDEN BAY HOLIDAY CAMP
Marsden Bay Holiday Camps will be having a Children’s Camp in the
School Holidays at Marsden Bay Youth Camp, One Tree Point, Ruakaka. January
9th—14th, ages 9-13years. Lot of great activities including: Go-karts,
motor bikes, buggy, trampoline, flying fox, abseil tower, air rifles,
archery, canoes, water slide indoor games, night games and sports. For

10,000 STEPS
Dargaville Launch on Thursday 25th November, meet at 10am Retravision
Victoria St Dargaville. Listen to KCCFM—92.4FM for more details.
Spot prizes include CD walkman (that plays MP3’s) and Sony Beach
Pod supplied by Retravisions.
