PTA NEWS
Next meeting is a “Fancy Hat” meeting, wear a hat on Tuesday
12th October at 7.30pm in the staffroom followed by coffee at Blah’s
afterwards. Many thanks to Dianne Taylor who co-ordinated the sausage
sizzle over the last two terms, and also thanks to the people who helped
out with the cooking on Fridays. PLEASE NOTE: There is NO sausage sizzle
on Friday’s this term.
BIBLE
Bible on Thursday from 12 —12.30pm in the school hall for the Junior
Syndicate.
DENTAL CLINIC
Just a friendly reminder, some children would of come home with consent
forms prior to the holidays, can these please be filled in and returned
to the clinic. It is important to remember how to brush different parts
of your teeth, like brushing upwards on the bottom teeth and downwards
on the top teeth. Do not brush your teeth vigorously backwards and forwards
as this may damage your gums and wear troughs in the teeth. Anne &

JUMP ROPE
Thank you so much to all the people who participated in Jump Rope for
Heart. Altogether Dargaville Primary raised $450.80 for people with heart
problems. Well done everyone.
SHOWDAY
All forms need to be returned to the office for children bringing animals.
Keep brushing, leading and loving your pets.
MARAE VISITS
Visits to our local Marae Te Houhanga will take place over the next 2
weeks. These visits co-inside with current social studies units. Senior
syndicate are going for the whole day on 12th October and the Middle and
Junior Syndicates will be going for ½ day on 19th October.
ILLUSION SHOW
On Thursday 21 October, The Magic Company will be delivering a fantastic
Illusion Show for all students. This show will cost $1. Children to give
the money to their teacher. The show will begin at 9.00am.
WILD HAIR DAY
Friday 22nd October. This national event has been organised for “Save
the Children” fundraiser. The concept is simple and everyone is
encouraged to wear wacky hair styles for a day in exchange for a gold
coin that will brighten the lives of the less fortunate children, in some
of the world’s poorest countries.

WHANGAREI BMX CLUB CHALLENGE
All schools in Northland are invited to enter a team in our annual school
challenge. To be held at the Whangarei BMX Track, William Fraser Memorial
PArl, Riverside Drive, Whangarei, on Sunday 17th October. Any pushbike
can be used and entry is $2. More details and forms are available from
the school office. Please have completed forms back to the office no later
than 13th October.
