Next meeting is 17th August, 7.30pm in the staffroom. The garage sale
is on the 4th September and items can be bought in to the school and put
under Room 16.
LIBRARY
Thank you to Sharon Stainton, Karen Frood and Penny Smart for covering
more books in the holidays.
BIBLE
Bible on Thursday from 12 —12.30pm in the school hall for the Junior
Syndicate.
FUN WITH TE REO
Next Whanau Support Group Meeting is 19th August at 3.30pm in the DPS
staffroom. All welcome.

TELECOM SCHOOL CONNECTION
Last week we sent home more Telecom Connection forms, thank you again
for your terrific response to this. We do have more forms available at
the office, please pass these on to your extended families, ie, grandparents,
aunts, uncles even your neighbours. Your child will receive a free pencil
for every new person that signs up.
DENTAL CLINIC
The Dental Team is back at DPS as from today. The phone number is 439
4065.
PET DAY
Parent help is needed for show day animals. Mrs Vincent is the teacher
in charge and Trish McCullough is the co-ordinator behind the scenes.
We are very grateful for all of Trish’s help but she will be unavailable
for next years event, so now would be a good time to show someone the
ropes. If you can help out please phone the office 439 7255.
COOKIES
Children can buy cookies for $1 on Wednesdays only. They will be on sale
with the juices after children have eaten their lunch.
TALENT QUEST
The finals for the Talent Quest will be on Friday 27th August 6.30pm to
approximately 9.00pm in the DPS Hall. Entry is gold coin koha.
TONER RECYCLING CENTRE
Our school is continuing to support the T.R.C. program to help reduce
industrial waste and you can help by sending any empty ink or toner cartridges
from your faxes or computers to school for recycling. Thank you to all
the people who have bought in empty cartridges to school for this, as
a result we have received a cheque for $71.00. This enables us to purchase
goods made from recycled items, such as rulers, cups and park bench seats.
OTHER NEWS AND EVENTS.
MOBILE EAR SPECIALIST CLINIC
The clinic will be outside Woolworths on the 16th August from 9.00am to
3pm. No appointment necessary just call in for all glue ear assessments,
treatment of discharging ears, grommet checks, wax and foreign body removal.
HARDCORE DANCE COMPANY
Presents Hip Hop, Street Funk, Music Video Style and more. One show only
held at Dargaville High School on Sunday 22nd August at 7pm. Door sales
only, adults $5 and children 15yrs and younger $3.
NATIONAL TOY LIBRARY AWARENESS WEEK
From the 9th to the 13th of August we will have a display for you to view,
(in the shop next to Gloria’s Flowers and Gifts), and on that 12th
& 13th we will be open from 10am—2pm for all your inquiries
and to join this great Library.
A colouring competition is being run by the Toy Library for 0-7 year olds,
these can be collected from the school office.
MEADOW FRESH
SEEDLING SWAP
On 7th & 8th August to coincide with the conservation week, children
12yrs and under can take previously bought Meadow Fresh milk cartons to
Duck Creek Garden Centre during the weekend and swap for a free native

DARGAVILLE TOY LIBRARY
Open day invitation to all parents/caregivers and children. We invite
you on Monday 16th August 2004 from 10am—2pm. Come and view/try
our extensive range of quality educational fun stimulating toys aimed
at 0-7year olds. We are situated in the Community Hall, Hokianga Road,
(opp. Town Hall)
