BIBLE
Bible on Thursday from 12 —12.30pm in the school hall for the Junior
Syndicate.

TEACHER AIDE POSITION
A part time position for a teacher aide has become available at DPS for
approximately 25 hours per week. This position would suit a person who
enjoys working with children with special needs, who have moderate to
high needs also supervision of small groups and assisting with the running
of a perceptual motor programme. If you are interested in this position
please call at the school office or phone for an application form and
further details.
ABSENT CHILDREN
It is the parents/caregivers responsibility to contact the school if your
child or children are absent from school. Phone 439 7255
JMB NETBALL
For all children aged 7 yrs and older and wanting to play netball. Forms
are available from the office. To avoid disappointment in not getting
into a team please return form and payment by Friday 30th April.
JMB RUGBY
Rugby starts 9am on Saturday 1st May at Dargaville Rugby Park for all
children 5yrs and older. All children intending to play please assemble
in the school hall tomorrow (Thursday 29th April) after you have eaten
your lunch. Mouth guards will be available for sale at $2.00.
ICEBLOCKS AND JUICES
These are available at lunchtime for children to buy at .70c.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE
The PTA are starting the sausage sizzle to be held every Friday lunchtime
this term. It is $1.00 for sausage and bread, children to give money to
their teacher Friday morning.
FITNESS & PE
It is that time of year again where the middle and senior syndicates participate
in their PE and fitness programmes. All children are expected to participate
in these unless they have a note from home or a doctors certificate. Children
are required to wear shorts and t-shirts during fitness and can put warm
clothes on before returning to their classes.
LUCKY BOOK
Lucky book order forms will no longer have date for closing orders stamped
on the back. The date will be put in the newsletter every Wednesday and
also displayed in the Library. Closing date for Issue 3 is 20th May.

MAINLAND CHEESE COMPETITION
Room 6 &16 have entered a Nationwide competition that supports SAVE
the Yellow Eyed Penguin “Hoiho”. We are currently collecting
the corresponding stickers off the Mainland Cheese block and slice packs.
Please drop any of these into the office to support us in winning a trip
to Dunedin.
EARLY FINISH
On 12th May all staff are attending a stop-work meeting to discuss contract
issues. Because of this there will not be enough staff to adequately supervise
classes. Therefore all town children will be sent home at 12.30pm. If
your child travels on a bus please make arrangements to collect them at
12.30 also
OTHER NEWS AND EVENTS.
NW SOCCER CLUB
Junior rally day this Saturday May 1st, 9.00am start at Selwyn Park. Boys
and girls all ages welcome, coaches and helpers also required. Refreshments
and sausage sizzle available after games as a club fundraiser. Enquiries
to Don 439 7571.
TE ARA REO CLASSES
There will be presentation, induction registration at Selwyn Park School.
Whare on Tuesday 4th May 2004, 6pm. If you are interested bring along
your birth certificate and Tax No’s. All classes are free.
DARGAVILLE SWIMMING CLUB
Prizegiving on Friday 7th May in the Dargaville Intermediate Hall 6.30pm.
Please bring a plate for supper.
KIDS CLUB
Starting Friday 7th May at the Dargaville Baptist Church. Friday nights
4-7pm for five weeks only. Come and be a “Desert Detective”
and find the buried treasure. Cost is $15.00 for the five weeks. Take
