BOT ELECTIONS
Nominations Close at Noon Friday 19th March. If you wish to stand for
the BOT please ensure your nominations are received at the School Office
before this time.
• March 19th – Nominations close, 12 noon.
SCHOOL LUNCHTIME
The School Lunch time will return to 12.30pm to 1.30pm as from the week
beginning 22nd March.
FOUND
1 large bunch of keys at the school, approximately two weeks ago. Pone
the school office 7255.
PTA NEWS
The appointed officers at the AGM held last week are President—
Paula Powell, Secretary—Carlrine Gillespie and Treasurer—Eileen
Nauman. The pizza drive is now underway and pizza order forms have been
sent home with the children this afternoon. These forms need to be returned
by Friday 26th March and delivery will be Wednesday 7th April.
JUNIOR SYNDICATE
On Monday 15th March the junior syndicate are planning to go to Baylys
Beach to do the cliff walk and then have some beach activities. Forms
have been sent home with the junior syndicate children and will need to
be returned to their teacher. The cost for this trip is $2.00
SCHOOL PHOTOS
School photos are being taken by “Sharron Booth,” a photographer
from Whangarei. Sharron has recently photographed other local schools
including High School and Intermediate. Class photos will be taken as
a whole class group this year, not as a composite as previous years. The
photos come laminated and named. Individual photos of children can also
be taken for $10, you receive 2 identical 15x10cm prints. No family or
group photos will be taken. Payment needs to be returned with your form
and has to be back at school by 30th March. Please make cheques payable
to Sharron Booth. Photo forms have been sent home with your child today.
NW SWIMMING SPORTS
Good luck to all children swimming at NW Swimming Sports tomorrow. It
will be on regardless of the weather.
Popcorn, sausages and drinks will be on sale for $1 each.

MIYACI KAN KARATE
Karate is now regarded as one of the best personal development programs.
Karate offers discipline, respect friendship, self belief, and self-defence.
It also helps children with their concentration, and can help with asthma.
Classes are held in Dargaville at the Community Hall (next to K.D.C) 4.15pm

FISH FACTORY YOUTH
Saturday 13th March, we are leaving from the Baptist Church to attend
the G ex international event at the North Shore Stadium in Auckland. These
guys rock. With their super tricks on bikes, blades, break dancing and
drama you will not want to miss this. You must book, ring Steve 439 7467

PARENTING SEMINAR
John and Naomi Cowan will be hosting a “Hot Tips For Parenting Seminar,”
in Dargaville on Wednesday 31st March & Thursday 1st April in the
Dargaville Town Hall. Registration 7pm with 7.30pm start. The cost for
both evenings is $15 per person and a seminar manual is sold separately
on the evening. These evenings have proved highly popular in the past.
They are an opportunity for parents to collect fresh ideas and new skills
in a relaxed and non-threatening environment. The seminars are designed
to provide heaps of fun and humour, and there will be spot prizes during
the evening.
GYMNASTICS
The gymnastic club has started at the DPS Hall 6—7.30pm, Mondays
and Wednesdays. Preferred dress is shorts and shirt that can be tucked
in (skirts and tight jeans are not suitable).
Age 8yrs and older. Cost is free until further notice.
DARGAVILLE SCOUT GROUP
Keas, Cubs and Scouts have vacancies for boys and girls aged 6-14yrs.

SOCCER
Boys and girls interested in playing soccer for the Northern Wairoa Club
in the interclub competition (Whangarei) for kids turning 11yrs and up.
Local soccer on Saturday mornings for 4yrs and up, lots of fun. Phone

GLENBROOK VINTAGE RAILWAY
Friends of Thomas Tank Engine” weekend will be held on 20th &
21st March 2004.
Meet Thomas NZ Engine Friends and “Sir Topham Hatt, The Fat Contoller”
will be in charge.
There will be Thomas souvenirs, face painting, sausage sizzle, food etc.
and the adjacent Farm Park is open. The fun starts at 9.30am and the first
train departs at 10.00am and every 30 minutes thereafter till 4pm.
Train fares: Adult $12 Child $6 (Under 5yrs free) Family of 2 Adults and
6 children $30
Farm Park: Adult $5 Child $3
Take the southern motorway to Drury then the main route to Waiuku (signposted).
Turn into Glenbrook Station Road.
HARDCORE DANCE COMPANY
One show only held at Dargaville High School on Wednesday 10th March at
7pm. Door sales only, adults $5 and children 15yrs and younger $3.
