DPS NEWS
LUNCH HOUR CHANGE
The lunch hour has been changed slightly to avoid the head of the summer
sun. This will continue through until the end of Daylight saving.
Lunch times are as follows:
12.45pm to 1.25 pm
Play time has been extended and will now be from 10.30-11am.
SWIMMING
Please ensure your children bring their togs, towels and swimming caps
to school each day. Swimming is part of our school programme and we expect
every child to swim. No child will be allowed in the pool without a swimming
cap. Swimming caps are available from the school Office for $3.00. Thanks.
ABSENT CHILDREN
It is the parents/caregivers responsibility to contact the school if your
child or children are absent from school. Phone 439 7255
PTA MEETINGS
There will be two meetings in the DPS staffroom next week, Monday 9th
Feb at 7.30pm and Wednesday 11th Feb at 3pm. The reason for two meetings
is to cater for all parents. So please attend one of these meetings as
your support is much appreciated.
LIBRARY
We have a large number of books missing from the library which were not
returned from last year. If you have any books at home with the DPS stamp
please send them back to the library.
ICEBLOCKS AND JUICES
These are available at lunchtime for children to buy at .70c.
SUN HATS
We are continuing to hear about the increasing dangers of exposure to
the sun. We want our students to be as safe as possible. All children
must wear sun hats. Those who do not have a sun hat will be restricted
to playing under one of the shade areas. This will apply to all children.
Caps, full brimmed hats will be acceptable, beanies are not acceptable.
MEDICINES
If your child needs medication at school please bring to the office and
also update any medicines that may need replacing.

On the 16th Feb a highly recommended “Kahurangi Dance Theatre”

The performers present the voyage of the Takitimu canoe through Polynesia
