LUNCH HOUR CHANGE
The lunch hour has been changed slightly to avoid the head of the summer
sun. This will continue through until the end of Daylight saving.
Lunch times are as follows:
12.45pm to 1.25 pm
Play time has been extended and will now be from 10.30-11am.
Please ensure your children bring their togs, towels and swimming caps
to school each day. Swimming is part of our school programme and we expect
every child to swim. No child will be allowed in the pool without a swimming
cap. Swimming caps are available from the school Office for $3.00. Thanks.
It is the parents/caregivers responsibility to contact the school if your
child or children are absent from school. Phone 439 7255
There will be two meetings in the DPS staffroom next week, Monday 9th
Feb at 7.30pm and Wednesday 11th Feb at 3pm. The reason for two meetings
is to cater for all parents. So please attend one of these meetings as
your support is much appreciated.
We have a large number of books missing from the library which were not
returned from last year. If you have any books at home with the DPS stamp
please send them back to the library.
ICEBLOCKS AND JUICES
These are available at lunchtime for children to buy at .70c.
We are continuing to hear about the increasing dangers of exposure to
the sun. We want our students to be as safe as possible. All children
must wear sun hats. Those who do not have a sun hat will be restricted
to playing under one of the shade areas. This will apply to all children.
Caps, full brimmed hats will be acceptable, beanies are not acceptable.
If your child needs medication at school please bring to the office and
also update any medicines that may need replacing.

MEET THE SNAZZY SENIOR SYNDICATE TEAM
All parents are invited to attend an afternoon to meet the syndicate teachers
and have a chat with your child’s classroom teacher. This will be
held in the school staffroom at 3.15pm on Wednesday 11th February. We
will promptly start at 3.15pm and each eacher will discuss aspects of
our syndicate programmes after which teachers and parents will head off
to their classrooms so that you can have a quick chat. At 3.45pm everyone
is invited back to the staffroom for refreshments.
On the 16th Feb a highly recommended “Kahurangi Dance Theatre”
is coming to our school to present a show “People of the Pacific”.
The performers present the voyage of the Takitimu canoe through Polynesia
to Aotearoa during the great migration. This programme includes traditional
dances from Tahiti, Hawaii, Samoa and the Cook Islands. The $2.00 per
child entry fee can be handed to their classroom teacher. We would encourage
everyone to attend and enjoy this presentation.
School fees are $35.00 per child. This helps towards your child’s
extra educational needs which are not covered by ministry funding.
